Heart-Opening Backbends: Strength and flexibility in the back of the body helps to improve our posture and open the lungs. Mental tension is released as we open the heart along with the front of the body in back bending postures. In this workshop, we will work on engaging pelvic floor, lengthening the side body, and activating the back body. Safely explore the benefits of back bends to help you increase mobility and flexibility of the spine and gain strength through the posterior chain (glutes, hamstrings, calves, erector spinae muscles surrounding the spine, and the lower and upper back muscles) All postures will be available in both gentle variations as well as deeper versions to suit individual needs and abilities.
